I am sure Putrocca already knows this:
Last year in november Hazard Edizioni has officially announced Dororo in Italian and a selection of best stories to be collected in 5 volumes for Astroboy. /the astroboy edition should have pages in color and is sligtly bigger than usual.
Recently JPOP has announced two "remake" of some sorts:
Ancora Akita Shoten: DAMONS
by Hideyuki Yonehara based on a tezuka's story. In 11 volumes it tells the story of a man who wants to avenge the loss of both his arms and replaces them using telekinesis. He runs after the evil ones who kidnapped his family (wife and son).
This one seems interesting.
Unfortunately we get to have theblack jack neo as well, same as the one coming out in France... I have to say I saw the book in Japanese and I am totally against these types of things... not only BJ becomes some sort orivate detective but there's merely one surgery in one full volume and the stories are way too long. Not to mention some drawings are ridiculous (like the ones of the jpop star who dances... if anyone could bend like that for sure should work in a circus!) |

I am sorry to communicate this so late and hopefully it is useful
We have Astroboy coming out on DVD, the first dvd box came in July and the second one will be out on august 27th... it should be a series of 4 boxes containing 2 dvd each for a total of 15 episode per box
This is the version directed by Dezaki, it has italian and japanese audio and italian subtitles.
The preview to the next episode is not dubbe but it has subs.
The set is by Yamato/Dolmen video.
the same company will soon release Fushigi na Melmo, it is the re-edited version with the cut scenes put back in. Italian audio and new subtitles it is due in October.
I have no more details but will keep you posted
They also announced The MOnkey but no due date was announced. |

You must be so delighted to get Astroboy in Italy Deda. I take it this must be the 2003 version made after Tezuka's death.
Japanese audio with subtitles in your own language will really make it wonderful.
I wish they had been so generous with our English releases. _________________ Osamu Tezuka is Japan's greatest story teller |

Nope, it's the 1982... the Dezaki/Tezuka one... I love it cuz it doesn't get too goody-two-shoes and it has an edge to it.
It's very close to the manga so I am very happy.
Btw. Hi no tori 9 will bi out by the end of October and should be available at Lucca Comics. |

At last Yamato Video has edited a 6 DVD box with the Tezuka's TV movies.

I think it's the only European edition of these movies. |

Is this going to be made available in an Australian release? Were any of the movies included ever dubbed into English?
As long as they came with English subtitles that would be better than nothing. Would Madman obtain the rights to this?
And can I find information about all these movies on the TIE site? _________________ Osamu Tezuka is Japan's greatest story teller |

This is excellent news. I'll try to post it on the site as soon as I can, though I've been behind in updates lately.
There's info on Fumoon and Marine express on the site, I know. what other films do you need info on? _________________ - Ada (site founder - TezukaInEnglish.com) |

Astroboy will be 4 dvd box, each containing 3 dvd with 15 episodes in every box.
The first 3 are out, the 4th one contains the end and some special contents (pictures, original op and ed and something else it's hard to find specs so if you can wait for me to get ahold of it hahaha).
It's region 2 (for Europe) and it has dual audio with italian subtitles only.
And this is fancy because Melmo and The Monkey didn't receive the same treatment.
tezuka special TV was available at Lucca Comics it contains:
Bander
marine express
fumoon
bremen 4
prime rose
and bagi
the extra contain preproduction drawings and some extra phamplets.

Astroboy was licensed by panini.
It will be released in January 2010 and will be bimonthly.
It's the same edition as the French (5 volumes, selection of the best stories).
La fenice 12 will be released by the end of november. |

| it depends where you are. I don't think yamato shop ships abroad but I'll see if I can find a shop that does ship outside of Italy and will let you know. |
