NOTE: This thread has now been split and all posts which were completely OOC and not referred to by any IC posts have been removed to a separate thread. All IC posts, joint IC/OOC posts and OOC posts which fit directly into the IC continuity are still here. In future people can used the OOC thread for OOC posts, though small OOC notes in the IC thread are still perfectly OK.

Repeat, this is the In Character thread, used for the active roleplay. For backup info, see the OOC or info threads.

He crept to her room and lightly tapped on her door.
"Pinoco, are you up yet?"

On the other side of the door, a frantic squeal followed by several sequential thuds returned as an answer. The door then swung open, an extremely perturbed Pinoco standing in its place. Her hair was in disarray, sans ribbons, and the glare on her face cast a shadow upon the entire hallway.

"LARGO!" She bellowed down the hall, hopping past Sensei and waving her short arm in a threatening manner. "YOU WOKE UP SHENSHEI BEFORE ME!" Her scolding faded down the hallway, "How am I supposed to have breakfast ready before work if he is awake before I am even dressed?!"

It needn't be said that Largo was probably well-aware of this fact. Consider it a secret favor to the doctor...

Pinoco froze, spun around, and wailed at the top of her lungs, throwing her arms around her tiny frame in a fit of modesty. "SHENSHEI DON'T LOOK!!!" Her face turned a bright pink, "I'm indeschent!"

Before continuing, I have to say that I want to make Lamp a good-bad guy like his incarnation of Chief Inspector Tomobiki on Black Jack: a man with a good, kind heart after all, but very bad-tempred, selfish, rude and unpolite.

Do you like the idea?

I am all for Lamp playing the similar role as in the Black Jack series. =3 Go for it!

OOC: I recommend that when people are posting out of character, things like the question about Lamp, you mark your posts OOC (out of chararacter) so people can keep it straight. Just a general online roleplay protocol that works well. Alternately, some roleplays like to have a separate OOC thread for comments like this, separate from the IC (in character) thread. What would you all think of that idea?

I'm having fun reading so far, and look forward to jumping in as Rock in a few weeks, though I'll warn you, I may have him show up in disguise as someone else...

Pinoco blinked, and lowered her arms back to her sides as she looking on curiously. "A lot of work to do? Like what?" She hadn't recalled Sensei telling her of any traveling expeditions, and she certainly wasn't prepared to handle any guests...not at the moment, anyway.

Black Jack's face was calm, but a hint of concern lay behind his scarred face and blazing eyes.

"Something came up after you went to bed last night. I think a friend may be in trouble, but I have to make sure first." He walked down the hall and opened the door to the clinic. "I'm not sure how long we'll be gone, so pack a change of clothes."

He stepped into the clinic and fetched his bag from the table. He opened the decontamination chamber and removed a tray full of shiny, sterile tools. He then put on a pair of gloves and placed each one in his surgical kit, then loaded it with disinfectants, sutures, gloves, patches, and other essentials of his feild kit. Finally, he opened a small case and placed four scalpels inside, then placed the scalpels inside his coat. Just in case.

Pinoco knew that look on her Sensei's face all too well, and she didn't like it one bit. But she knew better than to protest or press the doctor for any further information. She gave an exaggerated sigh, and turned back to her bedroom, "You could at least tell me what the climate will be, sheesh."

While Pinoco dressed, Black Jack returned to the office and set his bag on the desk. A small but neat pile of scribbled phone numbers and names lay beside the phone. He searched through the names of various celebrities and important figures until one of them caught his eye. He studied the paper slip for a moment and slipped it into his coat pocket. He checked his address book, then tied his overcoat around his neck.

"Just hope this doesn't get me into too much trouble." he muttered to himself.
