Viz has updated their website for fall releases, so here's a first look at the cover of Phoenix v11...

I didn't like the cover at first, but it's growing on me a bit. It's not a bad job of making it look colder and more futuristic, compared to the last volume cover's warmer and more primal picture and colours. And it's not like the design quality is facing very stiff competition from the earlier chapters.
I can't wait to read this. I got into the last volume a lot, and the flash-forwards to this part looked really cool. _________________ San Dimas High School football rules! |

| I just stopped by my local comic shop and saw that they had the new Phoenix! I picked up a copy. I have to say that cover is pretty plug-ugly, but I'll takes my Phoenix however I can gets it. |

| I didn't expect it to be released early. It's available on amazon.com as well, now. Looks like I'll have to place an order. Phoenix volume 11 and Ayakashi Samurai Horror Tales volume 3 released on the same day? I'll go broke at this rate. |

Excellent, my copy just arrived!
It's notable that at the back they have a translation of a very brief introduction Tezuka wrote for the next Phoenix story - although it seems uncertain whether this outline was designed for a Phoenix musical or an actual manga. In any event, I really like that it's included for completeness' sake. _________________ San Dimas High School football rules! |

| My copy arrived yesterday. Gonna reread 10 before starting 11 though and that means a trip back to my old place to get it. |

My copy arrived Wednesday, read it yesterday night. I didn't really wanna read it, actually wanted to sleep, but I thought I'd just read the first 30 pages or so. Read it in one go ^_~
It was a interesting story, mainly because of the timeskipping. Also interesting as I had a Premodern Japanese History lecture yesterday, which was about the ties between Peakche/Baekje, Kogoryu, Silla and Tang China and the influence of Buddhism on those countries =D _________________ "Rationality, that was it. I finished it last night. I found it fascinating (made me want to read up on some of that history as well). It was definitely one of the most complex in terms of story, so re-reading volume 10 first definitely would have been a good idea. _________________ San Dimas High School football rules! |

I just finished it. Still a bit in awe, though clearly not a perfect work. The ending might be a bit artificially sweetened, but thank god something happy happened at the end
Now that all of Phoenix is available in English I've started a thread for its serious discussion w/ spoiler headings so hopefully we can really dig a bit deeper into this series.

As for myself, now that it is available I will be reading through the whole series again looking for those connections I missed the first time 'round. |

I was very lucky to be able to buy a copy from a comics shop while visiting my brother recently in the big city. Now I'm only missing 4 volumes of Phoenix.
Incidentally I also found Dororo number 2. So I now have a complete set of that series. _________________ Osamu Tezuka is Japan's greatest story teller |

Good work. I've helped a few people track down missing volumes of Phoenix, but they're getting harder and harder to come by. Good luck finding the rest~ _________________
